You may start the program at age 14, but you cannot receive a learner's permit or in-car driving lessons until you are 15.

In addition to taking the driver's education course, students will be required to complete the state-required 30 hours (10 hours being at night) with a parent/guardian/or any adult 21 years (or older) who meets the state requirements. View state requirements.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Drive-time scheduling will be entered the 1st day of each month at 9:00 a.m.

  • Teen Online 32-Hour Classroom Only (this does not include the behind-the-wheel lessons*)

    • 32-Hour Self-Paced Online Course (modules without instructor)

    After completing the registration and paying for this course, you will receive a notification email from Teach Safe. You must reconfirm your email address, your username, and password on the Teach Safe website. After confirmation is completed, Teach Safe will send you another email to get started. You can start the course immediately.  *You can register for the behind-the-wheel ONLY lessons once you have completed the 32-hour online course.

  • Teen In-Person Classroom & Behind-the-Wheel Package

    PHASE 1
    • 32-Hour Driver Ed Class (16 sessions, 2 hours each session)
    • DPS Written Permit Test (certificate is issued the 1st week of class)
    PHASE 2
    • 7 Hours of Behind-the-Wheel Driving Lessons
    • 7 Hours In-Car Observation

    You must have your learner's permit before you can start behind-the-wheel driving lessons. The permit test is given in class. After passing, you will receive a certificate to take to DPS. All driving lessons will be given in one of our driving school vehicles. You will be expected to schedule your lessons through your online account. You are required to bring your learner's permit to your lessons. The driving lesson will consist of one hour of driving and one hour of observation.

    Administration fees will apply if tuition is not paid by deadline date.

  • Teen Behind-the-Wheel Only (PERMIT REQUIRED)

    • 7 Hours of Behind-the-Wheel Driving Lessons
    • 7 Hours In-Car Observation

    IMPORTANT: You must have your learner's permit from DPS before you can start behind-the-wheel driving lessons*. You can obtain your permit at the DPS. All driving lessons will be given in one of our driving school vehicles. The driving lessons will consist of one hour of driving and one hour of observation. You will be expected to schedule your lessons through your online account. *There is a $30 fee if you sign up for drive time without permit.

    You are required to bring your learner's permit to each lesson.
